Article summary

Why does the Grant Amount say Adjusted?

When an adjustment is applied to a payment, the original amount of the grant is retained for the sake of history, but the net amount of the grant of the grant is offset by the amount of the adjustment(s). This net amount is referred to as the Adjusted Amount. This amount is calculated automatically by Foundation Cloud Grants (FC Grants), and it is read-only.  This is also the amount that is sent over to Financial Edge (FE) for creation of invoices in FE as it takes voids and other such adjustments into consideration. For a better idea of where this number comes from see the examples below.

Adjusted Grant Amount:

Example:

  • $2,000 grant with
  • 2 payments of $1,000 each
  • From 2 funds, each contributing $1,000
  • A $400 refund is applied to the second payment, evenly distributed among the 2 funds.

Below is the Grant Record screen, notice the original amount for $2000.00 and the Adj. Amount of $1,600.00. The $2,000 grant was adjusted with a $400 refund and now has a net payment of $1,600.

Adjusted Payment Amount:

Below is the payment tile of our grant. The second payment has been adjusted from $1000.00 with a $400 refund and now has an adjusted amount of $600.

Payment Component Details:

Open the Payment Components modal by clicking the ellipses next to the payment and select Edit, in this case, payment 2 was opened. Notice this payment was adjusted by -$400.00 and the details are listed here. If there are two funds for this payment there will be two adjustment lines, one for each fund.

For detailed instructions on how to perform a refund or other payment adjustments, see this article.
