NPact’s Charity Evaluator add-on allows users the ability to immediately determine a nonprofit organization’s status with the IRS – without having to navigate to an external website.
The Foundation Cloud Grants (FCG integrated tool auto-populates the nonprofit’s organization record with key information related to its status with the IRS. Foundations can verify organizations eligibility to receive grants, classifications, NTEE codes, ruling date and other important information for grant makers.
Overview:
- Monthly the Charity Evaluator retrieves the refreshed Exempt Organizations Business Master File Extract (EO BMF) from the IRS website
https://www.irs.gov/charities-non-profits/exempt-organizations-business-master-file-extract-eo-bmf - This file is used to refresh the records for the Charity Evaluator. The charity evaluator does not retain a history of organizational statuses
- Monthly the Charity Evaluator will refresh the validation status of FCG constituents based on the EO BMF content. The process skips manually verified constituents
