My new computer needs Grant Edge (GE)
If the server has any version of GE later than 4.8.6.7 use the files contained in the link below to install GE. During the install process the user will be prompted to upgrade to the version loaded on the server and therefore will be using the same version as all other workstations.
Use this link for installing GE on a computer that has never had GE before: Workstation Installer GrantedGE 4.8.6.7 for new computers.zip
Steps for Installing GE Workstation:
Open the installer file. This will download the installation files in a zipped format. Unzip the files to a local location and then right-click on the setup.exe file and select Run as Administrator.
- Select Next on the “Welcome To the GrantedGE" Setup Wizard.
- In the below window, it will display which folder the download will go to. Select Next if this is the correct folder.
- Select Next on the Confirm Instillation window.
- While the application is installing, a separate window called "Current Domains" will pop-up. Select New.
- Enter the domain name (this is just a way to reference the Grants database – most foundations default to using “Grants”)
- Enter the SQL Server name or search for the server.
- Enter the database name in the Database field, or use the drop-down to select it. Generally, this is GRANTS. Select either Integrated security (allow Windows security to control) or enter a username if the user is using SQL Server Security (Most clients use Integrated Security).
- Select Test, a "Connection Successful" pop-up should appear. If an error appears like the one below, click Continue and go on.
