The download below is for Grant Edge Classic (GE Classic) clients who are self-hosted. Organizations hosted by NPact are automatically updated and are always on the latest release.
As a reminder, the details of each update are cataloged and available for viewing inside Grant Edge (GE), see Grant Edge Version and More for steps on locating this page.
Download this patch on the server: GE Patch 4.8.10.16
Release Notes
Version 4.8.10.16
Features:
- Add environment Id guardrails for sync processing
Version 4.8.10.15
GE Install Steps for Server:
- All users must be logged out of GE before starting the upgrade. If necessary, manually logout users by:
- Opening GE > Admin > User Sessions > End Session.
- Download the latest patch from the link above onto the database server.
- Make sure the downloaded executable patch program has not been "Blocked" by Windows. This can be done by right-clicking the patch program and clicking Properties. At the bottom of the General tab (underneath the Attributes section) there may be a Security note which says, "This file came from another computer and might be blocked to help protect this computer." If that message appears, check the Unblock checkbox and click Apply to unblock it. The Security message should then disappear. Click OK to close Properties.
- Right-click the patch program and run it "As Administrator".
- If there is more than one database to update, a list will populate, otherwise, select the database name (typically called Grants).
- Apply the patch. The update should take less than 5 minutes.
- An error message will appear if there are still users logged in. These sessions can be forcibly closed by clicking the Close Sessions checkbox which allows the patch program to automatically log out all users.
- After the GE patch is successfully applied, the database will be at the new version, but all of the workstations will be outdated. Starting with the SQL Server itself, right click on GE and run As Administrator, login and answer yes when prompted. This will update the desktop and then ask the user to login again. If this fails, use the Windows Task Manager to end all Grants.exe and GrantsAppServer.exe processes and try again.
- Repeat the previous step for all user workstations or app servers. Have each user run GE As Administrator, login and answer yes when prompted, and the patch will update the desktop and then ask the user to login again.
See separate instructions for loading GE onto a new workstation here.
