Merge Orphaned Constituents

The Merge Orphans option allows the user to correct any Grant Edge (GE) constituent that is linked to a constituent record within the CRM system that has been deleted.

*Note: The deletion of a CRM Constituent normally occurs when two constituents are merged, with one of the constituent record being deleted.

1. The Raiser's Edge (RE) Constituent Orphan Scan checks all constituent records in GE to ensure that the records in the CRM system still exist. 

2. The scan will flag all those constituents that do not have a matching CRM constituent. This function allows the user to view any GE Constituent record that has been flagged as an orphan record and correct the condition.

3. Selecting this option displays a screen similar to the one below.

4. Select a constituent by clicking on the grid line and then click the Search For Match button. 

5. The system will search for a constituent that matches both by name and address. 

6. If the system finds a corresponding record it displays a message having updated the RE Key and also removing the orphan flag.

7. If the system does not find a match, then it opens a search screen, allowing the user to search for the correct constituent record.
