Article summary

I am running an audit report and there are no results in the report even though there were changes made to the table in the audit policy, how do I fix this?

Answer:

This is caused by the FIMSInternal user and the user running the report not having audit policy permissions. You will need to be logged into FIMS with an admin account to do these steps:

These steps are for on-premise customers. If you are on using FIMS on Azure Cloud create a support case.

To determine what users have audit policy permissions, do the following:

1. Log into FIMS with an admin account
2. Go to Tools\System Utilities\Admin Utilities\Progress Editor
3. FIMS will close and you will see the Progress Editor window open
4. From the Progress Editor window, go to Tools\Data Administration

5. You will see the data administration window open:

6. Go to Admin\Security\Edit Audit Permissions, look to see what users are listed.

7. Make sure that FIMSInternal is listed there, if not, that user needs to be added. FIMSInternal is an internal FIMS user account that is used for many database admin functions. It is NOT to be used to log into FIMS. Add FIMSInternal as an audit admin.
  • Click Grant to start the process of adding a username.
  • If you click Help in the Edit Audit Permissions window, you will see an explanation of the Edit Audit Permissions window areas. There is also a link called 'Audit Permissions' where there will be an explanation of each permission.

8. Also add the FIMS user who will be running the audit reports and maintaining the audit policies. Be sure to select the correct permissions.
