Article summary

Automatic Entries

FIMS provides several methods for automating the process of creating General Ledger Journal entries. For example, you can automatically create recurring entries; run cash call routines; make interfund transfers; create entries from Journal History; or post recurring entries.

You can access all of these utilities from the Automatic Entries tab on the Journal Entry super tab. You can also access the Asset Rebalancing module from this tab. Refer to Using Asset Rebalancing for more information.

Note: FIMS can also automatically create Journal entries when you post transactions from subsidiary modules (for example, Gifts, Grants, and Pledges). Refer to the subsidiary modules for more information.

Note: All automatic entry routines create (or modify) Journal entries in the Journal Entry super tab. You must then run a G/L Edit report and post the entries to update the General Ledger.
