Configure Site Options

Options

In Site configuration, Options you can configure your foundation's DonorCentral site by enabling or disabling features.

To access these settings:

1. Open Control panel in the top menu, then select Site configuration.

2. By default, you will be in the Options section. If you are not in this section, select Options from the menu on the left side of the page.

Warning: The settings you specify are not based on users or roles, and affect all users who log in to DonorCentral.

Configure Home page options

1. On the Site configuration page, select Options.

2. Under Home, choose which tiles to include on the Home page.

3. Clear any tiles you do not want to show.

4. Go to the bottom of the Options page and select Apply changes.

Configure grant recommendation options

1. On the Site configuration page, select Options.

2. Under Grant recommendations, select or deselect the following options:

  • Allow donors to recommend and manage recurring recommendations
  • Allow recommendations which exceed the current balance of the selected fund
  • Allow multi-payment recommendations: This enables grant amounts to be divided into multiple payments. When this option is enabled, additional options will display on the Grant Recommendation form enabling users to split the total grant amount over multiple payments.

DonorCentral Advanced Features

  • Allow grant suggestions to be canceled while pending: This enables advisors to change or cancel pending grant recommendations. When this is enabled, additional menu items (Cancel and Change) display on the menu for pending recommendations. On the Grant details page for pending recommendations, two buttons display on the page: Cancel and Change.
  • Hide the Review step on the recommendation form
  • Require a minimum recommendation amount of: This allows you to specify a minimum amount that advisors must use when making grant recommendations. Enter a currency amount.

Note: This functionality requires configuration in both FIMS and Donor Central. For more information, see this document for details DonorCentral Advanced Features.

3. Go to the bottom of the page and select Apply changes.

Configure overrides for minimum grant amount

Note: Depending on your site configuration, you may not have access to this functionality.

If you've set a minimum grant amount requirement for your advisors, you can also optionally configure overrides based on fund type and recipient country to make exceptions to the global minimum grant amount.

1. On the Site configuration page, select Options.

2. Under Grant recommendations, after Require a minimum recommendation amount of, select Manage overrides.

3. In Minimum overrides, select New.

4. In New rule, select a Fund type and Country, then enter the Minimum grant amount.

5. Select Save.

Configure grant detail options

In Site Configuration\Options\Grants section, for grants that have multiple funds, you can choose to only show advisors the grant details associated with their funds. This prevents advisors from seeing details of funds for which they don't have permission.

When you select this option, any grant details not pertaining to the logged-in advisor are filtered out, and only grant information (grant amounts and payments) pertaining to the advisor's funds is displayed. All grant information is updated to reflect this setting.

  • Select Hide other donors' grant amounts to only show advisors the grant details associated with their funds. For grants that have multiple funds, this prevents advisors from seeing details of funds for which they don't have permission.

Go to the bottom of the page and select Apply changes.

Configure Gift options:

In Site Configuration\Options\Gifts section you can turn on or off the ability for advisors to see other donors' names or addresses:

Configure Fund details page options

In Site Configuration\Options\Funds section, you can enable the following settings:

  • Show the latest available "spendable balance" for each fund: You can customize the corresponding label and description that display on the page.
  • Show the latest available "market value" for each fund: You can customize the corresponding label and description that display on the page.
  • Enable Activity report for all users: This makes the fund activity report visible to advisors. When this option is not selected, only administrators can view the activity report details.

Note: This functionality requires configuration in FIMS. For more information, see the following document for more information DonorCentral Advanced Features.

Go to the bottom of the page and select Apply changes.

Configure fund statement options

In Site Configuration\Options\Fund statements section, configure the options for viewing and emailing fund statements:

  • Allow users to view fund statements: Enables advisors to view their fund statements online. When not selected, the View statement option is not available on the Funds page.
  • Allow users to email fund statements: Enables advisors to send fund statements to the email address they use to log in. When not selected, the Email statement option is not available on the Funds page.

Go to the bottom of the page and select Apply changes.

Enable Resources

In Site Configuration\Options\Resources section use this setting to enable administrators to upload sharable files, such as printable grant recommendation forms, annual reports, newsletters, and images to assist advisors in managing their funds. Advisors can select Resources from the menu bar to access the files.

To enable Resources, select Enable Resources features to upload shared documents and other files.

Select Apply changes on bottom of page.

Configure currency settings

In Site Configuration\Options\Currency section, you can specify the currency in which monetary values are displayed throughout DonorCentral. The default value is $ (US Dollars).

In Currency symbol used throughout the site, enter the symbol, a single, non-numeric character, for the currency you want to use.

Select Apply changes.

All monetary values displayed throughout DonorCentral, except for on the Grant Recommendation form, are automatically updated to reflect the currency setting. To configure the Grant Recommendation form to reflect the currency setting, see Currency symbol use case.

DonorCentral Help

You can enable help on your DonorCentral site to allow users to view DonorCentral documentation and help topics. To Enable Help, go to Control Panel\Site Configuration\Options. Check the checkbox to allow users to access Help and then click Apply Changes. Refresh DonorCentral in your browser to see the changes. Staff members will see this menu: 

Non-staff users such as advisors and donors will see this menu
