Create Journal Entries from Recurring Entries

After you create your recurring entries via Recurring Item Maintenance, you will have to periodically post the recurring entries to create actual General Ledger Journal entries.

1. In the General Ledger module, click the Journal Entry supertab, and then click the Automatic Entries tab.

2. Select Create Journal Entries from Recurring Entries from the Automatic Entries list, and then click the Run Process button. The Create Journal Entries from Recurring Entries window opens.

3. Enter the G/L Apply Date for the new entries you want to create.

4. (Optional) If you want to limit the entries you create to those with a specific Journal Key code (or range of codes), enter the desired code(s) in the Create Recurring Entries with Journal Key From / Through fields.

5. (Optional) If you want to limit the entries you create to those with specific ID numbers, enter the desired number(s) in the Include Entries with ID Numbers From / Through fields.

6. Click OK. A message appears asking if you are sure you want to continue. Click Yes to create the Journal entries.

7. Verify the Send To destination in the window that opens, and then click the Run Report button. The Create Journal Entries from Recurring Entries report opens in the FIMS Viewer.

8. Run an Edit report and post the entries.
