Create Relationships from Relationships

The Create Relationships from Relationships utility allows you to add a Relationship code to Profile records, based on existing Relationship codes.

1. In the Profile Management module, select File Maintenance > Create Relationships from Relationships. The Create Relationships from Relationships window opens.

2. In the Profile field, enter the Profile ID code of the Profile whose current relationships you want to use as the basis for the new relationships, and then press Enter on your keyboard. If you are not sure of the ID code, click the Lookup button (looks like a magnifying glass) next to this field to select the desired Profile.

Note: The Profile field is the only field that is available when you first access the utility. Once you select a Profile ID code, more fields will become available.

3. If you want to view all of the existing relationships, click the Show All button at the top of the window. If you only want to view relationships with a specific Relationship code, select the desired code from the Relationship drop-down box and then click the Show Specific button.

4. Do one of the following:

  • If you want to create additional Relationships for specific Profiles in the list, click the arrow in the New Relationship drop-down box for the desired Profile (in the data grid section of the window) and select the Relationship code that you want to add. Once you select the code, click the Create button to create the relationship.
  • If you want to create additional Relationships for all of the Profiles in the list, click the arrow in the New Relationship drop-down box at the bottom of the window and select the Relationship code that you want to add. Once you select the code, click the Apply to All button, and then click the Create button to create the relationships.

Note: If you want to create an inverse relationship instead of a standard relationship, select the Inverse checkbox. You cannot create standard and inverse relationships at the same time. You have to run the utility twice to create both sets of relationships.

  • Repeat this process to create any additional relationships.
  • When you are finished, click the Done button.
