Customize the Home Page

As an administrator, you can customize the layout, appearance, and text on the Home page.

Note: Customization features are not available to donor/advisors. If you are using View as advisor, exit the advisor view using the X button in the banner across the top of the page as shown below.

Configure Tiles

Every tile has a grid icon in the upper right corner. Click on this icon and drag it into a new position. All other tiles on the page will move into place automatically.

Your tile settings will save to your account on the device you are using to access DonorCentral. If you log out or shut down the device and return to it later, the tiles will appear in the same place you left them.

Upload a logo

To upload or modify a logo on the Home page, follow these steps:

1. In the Welcome tile, select the Configure icon to open Edit settings.

2. Click in the text area beneath Description, then select the Image icon to insert an image.

Note: If you already have an image in this area and would like to replace it, either delete the existing image or right-click on it and select Image Properties.

3. In the Image Properties window, under the Image info tab, enter the URL for the logo you wish to use.

To locate a URL for your logo, try visiting your organization's homepage in a separate browser window and right-clicking on the logo if for example you would like to use the logo from your foundation's website. Depending on which browser you use, you may see options such as "Copy image address" or "Open image in new tab." Use one of these options to copy the URL for the image.

The URL you copy should end with a filename for an image with an extension such as ".jpg" or ".png."

4. The logo will appear in the Preview window. Optionally, you can enter Alternative Text and set custom dimensions for the logo. Select OK when you are finished.

5. Click Save in the main edit settings window

Customize titles and descriptions

Note: Features described in this section are only available to administrators.

You can customize the title and description of the tiles on the Home page.

1. Select Home in the navigation bar, then select the Configure icon in the upper-right of the tile you want to customize. The example below is the 'View your fund details' tile, but this configure icon would be the same icon that you would click for any tile; View your fund details, See your grants, or Explore opportunities.

2. In Edit settings, the Title is the name that will display at the top of the tile for donor/advisors. Depending on the tile, you will have the ability to modify different sections of text:

  • In the Welcome tile, the Description is the text that appears under your foundation's logo. You can use the formatting tools in the text box to customize the appearance of the text and use the Image icon to upload a new image file from a URL.
  • In View your fund details, you can modify the Spendable Balance Footnote. This is the text that appears when a donor/advisor hovers over the "i" icon beside the balance for a fund. This is an example of a Spendable Balance Footnote:

"The spendable balance takes into account all submitted recommendations, including those that have yet to be approved. Saved recommendations are not deducted from the balance until they are submitted."

  • In See your grants, the Description is the text that appears when a donor/advisor hovers over the "i" icon next to the title. This is an example of a Description:

"Scroll through to see your pending grant recommendations, approved grants awaiting payment and paid grants. You can also see your full history, including summary information and charts, by clicking the link below or by clicking "Grants" in the navigation bar."

  • In Explore opportunities, the Description is text that appears below the title.

3. Apply formatting to the text area using the buttons in the toolbar. For a list of formatting options, see the subheading Format text below.

4. Select Save when you are finished making changes.

Note: Spendable balance may or may not display, depending on the site settings.
