When running reports or doing imports in FIMS, the following error can occur:
Answer:
This error means that FIMS cannot write data to the database and that there are three possible causes for that:
1. That the drive that holds the NPO folder on the FIMS database server is running out of space
OR
2. That there is a permissions issue for the FIMS user in question in writing to the drive. On this second point, check and see if you are using UNC paths in either your FIMS shortcut or ini files. If so, permissions can be different between a mapped drive where you have direct access to the file structure vs UNC paths.
- Please see the following article below for setting up FIMS shortcuts and ini files:
- Areas to check: FIMS shortcut, FIMS.ini file that workstations use, a separate ini file in the terminal server if you have one. (Terminal servers have their own specific file)
OR
3. That there was a network interruption that caused the shared NPO drive to drop and thus caused the database connection to the FIMS database to drop. This can be caused if users use a wireless connection which we do not support.
