Thank you for your feedback
When running a Word merge the error "Invalid Merge Field. This merge field is used in the main document, but it does not exist in the data source. You can remove the invalid merge field from the main document. Or, you can replace it with a valid merge field from the data source." can occur.
Answer:
This error message is telling you there is no data in your export with that field name. You can either remove the field, leaving that field empty or you can use the dropdown in the Fields in Data Source section to find the field.
This error can also occur if the merge fields are too long. Microsoft Word will not recognize merge fields longer than 30 characters. For fund statements, these fields can be shortened in Design Statements in General Ledger on the Column and Row formats. After shortening them there, be sure to re-export data from FIMS and to change them in the Word template to match the fields in FIMS.
