    I am trying to add an affiliation code from an exported file utility in FIMS, but keep getting a "missing idcode" message. Why is this coming up?

    Answer:
    The file maintenance procedure: File Maintenance > Profiles > Add Affiliation from Exported File requires that the first column in the spreadsheet has a label of idcode.  The various exports that are created by FIMS frequently have column headings of "id code" . Thus, it might be necessary to edit the label into  "idcode" format. ( no space). Save the new version of the file and try the add affiliation tool again.
