When running a FIMS patch upgrade, the following errors can occur in the compiler window for every file:
** Error Compiling "file path and name"
** Error=Unable to create r-code file "file path and name". (477)
This error may also occur if running the full FIMS upgrade installer on the server as well.Answer:
This is an environmental permissions issue where the r-code files cannot be created. This issue can be resolved by doing the following:
Patches
1. Right-click on the FIMS shortcut and select run as administrator. If you are not a local admin on the machine where the patch is being run, you will be prompted for the admin credentials.
- NOTE: Even if your Windows account is a local admin, it is recommended that you still right-click on the FIMS shortcut and run as administrator in order that permissions are elevated.
- You may get this error when trying to run FIMS as admin, "Unable to Open Message File PROMSGS". If so, see the following Unable to Open Message File PROMSGS when Right Clicking and Running FIMS as Administrator
Full FIMS Installations on the Database Server
1. Right-click on the FIMS upgrade installer file and select run as administrator
2. Follow the rest of the instructions to run the full installation per the instructions.
