Field Calculation Error Occurred when Running Macro or Merging Letters
When running a macro on a master letter or merging a letter you may run into a field calculation error, "A field calculation error occurred on (record#)":
Answer:
The following are causes as to why this error can occur:
Fund statements:
The file paths for gift and grant detail need to have two slashes between folders, not one.
For instance if you have a file path, "C:\export\fndgift.txt" that is not correct. It must have two slashes between folders and be typed as follows: "C:\\export\\fndgift.txt".
If you have a space in the beginning or end of your file path, the error can occur.
Using the example above, you will get an error if a space is inserted between the starting quotation and the "C", or after the "t" and the ending quotation.
Invalid: " C:\\export\\fndgift.txt"
This issue can occur if the fndgift.txt or the fndgrant.txt does not match the main fndstat.txt data file. For example, if you edited the fndgift.txt or fndgrant.txt file. Be sure to use the original files exported out of FIMS.
This can also occur in fund statements if the header is not correct.

Gift and Grant letters
If you are merging gift acknowledgement letters and get this error, make sure your master merge document is set up correctly. This error usually happens if the header is not correct.
