Fund Statement Style Codes

A Fund Statement Style code can be applied to each Fund to determine the kind of Donor Statement that you want to produce via the Fund Statements Export.
Most organizations have at least two Fund Statement styles – one for endowed Funds and one for non-endowed (pass-through) Funds. Some organizations also use slightly different statements for endowed Funds that spend a calculated amount and those that spend net income. You can also set up codes to reflect Fund Representative preferences.
The best method is to set up a separate mail merge document for each Fund Statement style. You can then create a code to identify each statement type and indicate the main mail merge document that will serve as the template for that Fund Statement. Using style codes can both control appearance and determine the content of the statement (for example, which account balances to present and where to place them on the printed page).
Once you create the codes, indicate the appropriate style for each Fund (on the Fund 2 tab).
Example:
Note: If you only use one style, you do not need to create any Fund Statement Style codes.
Note: When you use this method and export data in the Fund Statements Export, the export will create data filenames based on the names entered on the Send To tab, plus an underscore and the Style code. For example, the main data filename might be c:\fndstat_C00.dat. Refer to Running the Fund Statements Export in the General Ledger module for more information.
Here is an example of those other data sources. Note that this is just an example, your files may be in a different folder depending on how the export is configured and what your fund statement style codes are:
1. In the Fund Management module, select File Maintenance > Fund Code Maintenance > Fund Statement Style. The Fund Statement Style Code Maintenance window opens.

2. Click the New button on the toolbar to open a new code for editing.
3. Enter the Code (up to four characters) that you want to use to define the style.
4. Enter a text Description of the code.
5. In the Statement Merge Document field, enter the path and file name of the main merge document that you want to use for this Fund Statement Style. When you run the Fund Statements Export for Funds that use the code using auto-launch, this document will automatically be used. If you are not sure of the exact path and file name, click the Browse button to locate the desired file.
