When auto-building GL accounts for a new fiscal year for a new fund, the error G/L Account Already Exists with Year () Account Key () occurs when the account actually does not exist.
Steps To Duplicate:
From the Funds module:
1. Go to File Maintenance > Auto-Build G/L Accounts
2. Select the Fund and the fiscal year needed
3. Click OK
4. See error G/L Account Already Exists with Year () Account Key () occur.
5. Upon checking GL note that the account does not actually exist for the year and the account key.

Answer:
This is caused by having GL Master Chart Accounts that are 6 digits long but the account field is only 5 digits.
When building the full GL Account Key it's only taking the first 5 digits. So for example "4000-" is duplicated between some accounts in the master chart.
To fix, you can get rid of the dash, or use functional expenses or numbers other than the ones used to differentiate those accounts.
