Article summary

Grant Entry

The following steps illustrate a basic Grant entry. This is the type of entry typical of a Donor advised, designated, or other non-competitive Grant. In this example, a Profile and Grantee record must be created before you enter the Application.

Note: These steps may not mention every field that is available for entering Grant Applications. Refer to the Grantees Supertab, and Applications Supertab for more information.

Note: Determining required fields is an institutional decision. One organization might skip a field that is required at another. FIMS allows you to highlight the fields that are required at your organization. Refer to Required Fields in the Introduction for more information

Tip: FIMS allows you to automatically create Grant Applications that recur periodically. Refer to File Maintenance – Grants for more information.

Before you begin entering Grant Applications, do the following:

  • Check to see that each applicant has a Profile record.

  • Check to see that each applicant has a Grantee record.

Note: The applicant must have a Profile record before you can create the Grantee record.

If any of these records do not exist, you will have to create them before you can enter your Applications. FIMS allows you to create these records directly from the Grantee and Grant Management module.
