How do I reset a user's FIMS password?
Answer:
Only system admins can access FIMS user records. To change the FIMS password for an existing user:
- Go to Tools > System Utilities > Establish System Users
- Double-click the user or select the Edit User button after highlighting the User ID.
- Enter in the new password in the New Password box and type it again in the Confirm Password box.
The password can be any length and can be re-used and never expires. This is not the case if you have complex passwords enabled. Please see the information below on complex passwords.
FIMS Complex Passwords
If you have complex passwords enabled, the password that you set for a user has to meet certain requirements, please see this article. Note that FIMS hosted by NPact has complex passwords enabled.
Additionally, if you have FIMS complex passwords enabled, then when you set a password for a user, that user will be required to change their password the next time that they log in.
