Article summary

I would like to add a new charity to DonorCentral so that it is available for advisors to choose when they make a suggestion, how can I do that?

Answer:

1. Add the grantee in FIMS:

Create a Grantee Record (Grants)

 2. Add the DonorCentral Affiliation code to the grantee record.

Be sure that the grantee has the correct grantee code so that it will upload to DC. The Grantee record in FIMS for the charity must be assigned the DonorCentral Affiliation code so that the charity will show in the drop-down when searching for grantees.

  • In FIMS, navigate to the Grants module.
  • Click on the Grantees Supertab.
  • Search for the charity in question.
  • Double click to open the Grantee record.
  • Click on the Affiliations tab.
  • Add the Donor Central affiliation code.
  • NOTE: If you are unsure of the affiliation code, navigate to Tools > System Utilities > DonorCentral > Donor Central Options > Suggestions > Upload_Grantee_Affil
  • Save the grantee record.
  • After the next data upload, the charity will be found when searching in the DonorCentral recommendation form.

3. Upload FIMS data to DonorCentral

You will have to wait for the nightly DC upload to take place or you can manually upload when you would like so that you do not have to wait for nightly upload.

Can I manually upload data to DonorCentral?
