How to Use the Database Maintenance Tool

Answer:

The Database Maintenance tool can be used to copy live to test, restart databases, see what users are connected to demo and production databases and disconnect users.

You can access the Database Maintenance tool by going to the Custom menu in FIMS. If it is not there, contact support to have it added.

Copy Live to Demo
To copy live to demo for customers using FIMS on Azure Cloud, see the following:

Restart your hosted FIMS databases
If you choose to restart your database, all users would be kicked out of that database. Use caution when choosing to Restart your database. It is best to contact support before doing that if you are having some type of issue.

  • To restart the Demo database, you would select the Demo radial button, then click Restart DB.
  • To restart the Production database, you would select the Production radial button, then click Restart DB.
See what users are connected to either the Demo or the Production database.

  • To see what users are connected to the Demo database, click the Demo radial button and the list of users connected to that database will be displayed
  • To see what users are connected to the Production database, click the Production radial button and the list of users connected to that database will be displayed.
Disconnect users from Demo or Production databases:

  • After seeing what users are connected in the demo or Production databases, you can highlight the user and click the button to Disconnect User.
