I posted a journal entry against the pooled asset account in GL, but the transaction does not show in FACTS. Why is the transaction missing?
Answer:
Journal entries with the journal key code of FA do not create transactions in FACTS.
If you create entries using the FA key for the pooled asset account, you will cause FACTS and the GL to become out of balance and this can cause issues when trying to remove the fund from a pool at a later time.
There are only two times the FA key should be used:

- When FACTS is unposted, the reversing entries will use the same journal key as the posting entries
- When you are manually moving the unrealized gain into the book value account in the process of closing a fund when you maintain your asset values at Book vs Market.
