Maintain Journal Key Codes

Journal Key codes allow you to group General Ledger Journal entries into categories. This forms sub-ledgers that you can use for reporting purposes (For example, you can run a YTD General Ledger report filtered for Account Payable History).

When you make a General Ledger Journal entry to a pooled Asset Account, the Journal Key code determines the FACTS Transaction Type and the default FACTS Investment Account (Deposit or Disbursement) that will be affected by the transaction.

The system uses some codes for automatic entries, and others for manual entries. You can also add your own codes to categorize manual entries.
