Manually Changing the Date Format

NOTE: This example takes you through the process of changing a date from mm/dd/yyyy format (01/01/2008) to a written out format (January 1, 2008).

1. Select the date field that you want to change and do one of the following:

• Press Alt+F9 on your keyboard.
• Right-click on the field and select Toggle Field Codes.

The code for the date field will appear in your document.

Example:  Date Field (mm/dd/yyyy format)

2. In the date field, select the text in between the quotes and change it to
MMM d, yyyy.

Example:  Date Field (written out format)

3. Right-click on the field and select Update Field.

4. Right-click on the field again and select Toggle Field Codes. The date will now appear in your document in written out format.
