Profile Management Module Toolbar
The Profile toolbar includes several buttons that are specific to using the Profile Management module:
Button | Function |

Send Email | Creates a new email message addressed to the selected Profile (if the Profile record contains an email address). Note: If you have email addresses for both the main Profile and the Partner, clicking this button will open a confirmation window where you can determine whether you want to send the message to the main Profile, the Partner, or both. Refer to Sending Email to a Profile for more information. Note: If you want to send an email to multiple Profiles, you can run the Address Listing with Labels and Email report and send the message directly from the report. |
Visit Web Site | Launches your web browser and opens the selected Profile’s web page (if the Profile record contains a web site address). |
Profile Folder | Opens a Windows folder where you can store additional information about the Profile, including word processing documents, faxes, scanned documents, and images. The name of the folder is a combination of the Alpha Sort name and the Profile ID Code. Note: You must set up a Windows folder as the parent folder and link it via Tools > System Utilities > System Options (Explore_Dir) before using this button. Keep the following in mind when you create the parent folder: FIMS automatically creates the Profile folder on your system (as a sub-folder of the parent folder) the first time you click the Profile Folder button. If the Alpha Sort field is changed, the system will automatically change the name of the folder. You can automatically save Gift Acknowledgment letters, Fund Statements, and Grant letters into the appropriate Profile’s folder. Contact FIMS Support for help with this process. New Profile | Creates a new Profile record, regardless of which record you are viewing. Refer to Entering the Main Profile Record for more information. |
New Grouped Profile | Creates a new Profile record as a member of an existing Profile group. Refer to Creating New Grouped Profiles for more information. |
Tip: Creating New Records from the Toolbar
You can use the New button or the New Profile button to create a new Profile record.
Clicking the New Profile button (located on the Profile Management Module toolbar) creates a new Profile record, regardless of which tab is active in the Data window.
The New button (located on the far left-hand side of the Data Entry toolbar) is context sensitive – it creates a new record for whatever data page is displayed in the Data window. This button will add a new Profile record from the Profile Data Grid, Profile 1 tab, Profile 2 tab, and Salutations tab. If you are working with any other part of FIMS, you should use the New Profile button.
The New Grouped Profile button (located on the left-hand side of the Profile Management Module toolbar) creates a new Profile record as part of an existing Profile Group. Refer to Creating New Grouped Profiles for more information.
