The Scholarship Management toolbar contains six special purpose buttons:

From left to right:

 Button

Function

Grant/ Grantee/ Student Folder

Opens a Windows folder where you can store additional information about Scholarships, Grantees, and Students, including word processing documents, faxes, scanned documents, and images. The folder is automatically created on your system the first time you click the Grant/Grantee/Student Folder button.

NOTE: Do not create these folders on your own through Windows. Let FIMS create and name them when you click the Grant/Grantee/Student Folder button.

NOTE: The Grant Folder is a subdirectory within the Grantee’s Profile Folder.

If you click the button while the Students super tab is selected, the selected Student’s Profile Folder opens. If you click the button while the Grantees super tab is selected, the Grantee’s Profile Folder opens. If you click the button while the Applications, Application History, or Conditions super tab is selected, the Grant Folder opens, where you can store information about the specific Scholarship.

Application Defaults

Opens the Default Scholarship Application Entry Values window, where you can set default values for key data fields (Action, Status Code, Batch, Board Date, Grant Date, and Payment Dates) that will automatically be added to all new applications until the defaults are reset.

Refer to Setting Default Scholarship Application Values for more information.

New Application

Opens a new Scholarship application. Unlike the New button on the extreme left of the toolbar, this button is not context sensitive and will open a new application regardless of which kind of record is being viewed.

Refer to Creating a New Scholarship Application for more information.

NOTE: If you have not already set default application entry values, you will be prompted to do so when you create your first application.

New Student Profile

Opens a new, blank Student Profile record. A Student record must be created for every Scholarship Applicant. It has a one-to-one relationship with the Profile record but adds additional information specific to their Scholarship application(s).

Refer to Creating a New Profile Record for more information.

New Grantee

Opens a new, blank Grantee record. In Scholarship Management, the Grantee is usually an institution, although the Student can also be the Grantee. The Grantee record must be linked to an existing Profile record.

Unlike the New button on the extreme left of the toolbar, this button is not context sensitive, and will open a new Grantee record regardless of which kind of record is being viewed.

Refer to Creating a New Grantee Record for more information.

New Grantee Profile

Opens a new, blank Grantee Profile record. Unlike the New button on the extreme left of the toolbar, this button is not context sensitive and will open a new Profile regardless of which kind of record is being viewed.

Refer to Creating a New Profile Record for more information.
