Setting Default Export File Locations

If you set up a default path and filename for your exported data files, you will not have to manually enter this information each time you run an export.

From anywhere in FIMS, select Tools > System Utilities > System Initial Setup. The System Initial Setup window opens.

  1. Click the Word Processing tab.

  1. In the Output to File Path field, enter the location on your computer (or server) where you want to save your data files.
  2. Enter the desired file name and extension (for example, Profile.txt for your Profile File) in each of the appropriate File fields. 


NOTE: Refer to Using FIMS Data with Microsoft Office for more information on the file extension you should use for your data files.

  1. Click OK.
