Article summary

Setting up Installments

When you initially create a Pledge, FIMS automatically builds the payment schedule for you and adds each payment line to the Installments tab. You can also manually adjust the installments.

NOTE: If you want to make changes to either the Amount or Date Due, you must set the payment frequency to Irregular (on the Pledge tab). If the payment plan was built based on an Irregular frequency, you will have to make changes to these fields to create the desired installment plan (FIMS cannot automatically set up an irregular plan).

NOTE: When you are finished making a change to a field, you can press Enter on your keyboard to move to the next line item. For example, if you change the Amount on the first line, pressing Enter highlights the Amount on the second line.

1. In the Pledge Management module, click the Unposted Pledges supertab.

2. Make sure the appropriate Pledge is open, and then click the Installments tab.

3. If you want to change the Amount for a line item, use your mouse to highlight the amount and then type in the new amount.

NOTE: When you change a line item Amount, the total Pledge Amount changes automatically. You can view the new total amount in the Pledge Amount field on the Installments tab, or the Amount field on the Pledge tab. Make sure that the final Pledge Amount is correct after you make any changes.

4. If you want to change the Date Due, select the date and then either enter the desired date in mm/dd/yyyy format or click the arrow to open a calendar where you can select the desired date.

5. If you want to assign the Pledge to a different Fund ID, Debit Account, or Credit Account, place your cursor in the desired field and then either enter the desired Fund or account or click the arrow in that field to open a lookup window where you can select the Fund or account.

6. When you are finished making changes, click the Save button on the toolbar.
