Standard Fund Codes

Fund Code Maintenance is used to maintain the code tables used in the Fund Management module. The same codes also may be used in other modules. Only codes added to these tables can be used to categorize Fund records.

To access Fund Code Maintenance, select File Maintenance > Fund Code Maintenance, and then select the code table you want to work with from the sub-menu that opens.

The process for maintaining these codes is the same as other codes in FIMS. Refer to Maintaining FIMS Codes in the Introduction for more information on configuring code tables.

  • Fund Type Codes: These codes are used to categorize Funds. They are often used for the FASB categorization of the principal or non-spendable portion of the Fund.

  • Fund Sub Type Codes: These codes are used to define any Donor restrictions placed on the use of the spendable portion of the Fund.

  • Division Codes: These codes are used to indicate Fund ownership, or the geographical designation of Fund activity.

  • Interest Codes: These codes are used to describe the primary Grant making interest area of the Fund.

  • Spending Policy Codes: These codes are used to define spending policies for Funds.

  • Fund Representative Type Codes: These codes are used to define a Profile’s relationship to a Fund.

  • Grant Letter Codes: These codes are used to indicate how the Donor wishes to be thanked for Grant awards (or that Donor does not wish to be thanked at all).

  • Staff Codes: These codes are used throughout FIMS to relate records to a specific staff member
