Article summary

User Defined Fund Export

This export allows you to select the actual fields that you want to export. You can select any field from the Fund table for export, and you select the desired field(s) from the Fields tab on the FIMS Report Selections window (only available for user defined exports). You can control the order of the fields by moving them up or down in the list. Fields from the Fund table are also offered on the Selection and Sorting criteria for the export.

This export also allows you export custom fields created in FieldMaker.

Running a User Defined Fund Export

Refer to the User Defined Profile Export and User Defined Gift History Export sections of this document for additional information and tips on running the export.

1. In the Fund Management module, select Reports > User Defined Fund Export. The FIMS Report Selections window opens, with the Fields tab selected.

2. Select the desired field(s) and click the Add button to add them to the export. Only the fields you select on this tab will be included in the export.

NOTE: You can change the order in which the fields appear in the export by selecting a field in the right-hand pane and clicking either the Move Up or Move Down button.

3. Once you have selected the desired fields, use the Selections and Sorting tabs to set up the export, just as you would in a standard FIMS export.

4. When you are finished configuring the export, click the Send To tab and verify that the path and File Name for the export file is correct. The default path and file name is c:/export.txt, but you can change the path and file name if desired.

5. Click the Saved Reports tab and save the configuration to your list of default exports. This will allow you to run the export at any time, without having to manually select the desired fields, selections, and sorting criteria each time you run it. Refer to Saving Report Settings for more information.

6. Click the Run Report button to export the selected data. A confirmation message opens to tell you how many records were exported.

7. You can now open the file in Microsoft Word or Excel to create presentation quality reports. Refer to Using FIMS with Microsoft Office for more information.
