Article summary

In the code table there is a column labeled Beginning Month.  What does this mean?

Answer:
The meaning of this field depends on the calculation source and evaluation method chosen at run time.

If the calculation source is G/L and the evaluation method is
  • 1. Average Quarterly Balance
  • 3. Average of Ending Months in Quarter
  • 5. Average of Highest Month in Quarters
then enter the number of the first General Ledger period of the last chronological quarter you are averaging. You can enter any month within the desired quarter and FIMS will recognize the appropriate quarter, but traditionally we have entered the beginning month of the quarter.   For example, if the last quarter is October through December, then enter 10, but 11 or 12 will now work as well.
