What is the database engine used by FIMS and how is it different from SQL Server?
Answer:
FIMS uses the OpenEdge database format which is a product of the Progress Software Corporation. Like SQL Server, it is a relational database. One key difference between SQL Server and OpenEdge is that OpenEdge can run on other operating systems other than just Windows while SQL Server only runs on Windows. For this reason, OpenEdge is chosen by some businesses due to its flexibility.
