Article summary

After upgrading to FIMS 14.70, users may receive a pop-up message: Do you want to save previous address information to Alternate Address? when saving a Profile record in FIMS even if no addresses are defined on the record.

Steps To Duplicate:
  1. In the profile module, select a profile to edit.
  2. Edit or add any field.
  3. Click Save.
  4. Receive message: Do you want to save previous address information to alternate address? Yes or no
Answer:

The alternate address tab is a new feature in FIMS 14.70.

This message will appear if any changes are made to the following fields, not just addresses. Please see the FIMS 14.70 release notes for these fields:

Address1 • Address2 • Annual name • Bus-Title • Cell-phone • City • Country • County Code • E-mail • Fax • Home Phone • Org Name • State • Title Code • Work Phone • Work Ext • Zip

Starting with FIMS 14.71, we’ve added a new System Option so you can choose to disable the option. When disabled, you are no longer prompted to choose whether you want to copy the previous address to an alternate address when making an address update.

Starting in FIMS 14.72, when changing the Address in Tax Status Plus, FIMS now prompts you to choose whether you would like to move a previous address to an alternate address. See the FIMS 14.72 release notes for more information:
