This error may occur after adding a new item to the custom menu through Dynamic Menu Maintenance and then subsequently appear for all users when logging into FIMS.
Steps To Duplicate:
- Log into FIMS
- Go to Tools > System Utilities > Admin Utilities > Dynamic Menu Maintenance
- Copy the custom parent
- Change order to next number
- Type in the ODBC path
- Change sub menu from parent to custom
- Close window
- Prompted to reset menu bar - click yes
- Receive error
- FIMS shuts down
- Attempt to log in
- Receive error
- No one can launch FIMS
Answer:
This issue was addressed for the customer by a back-end fix done by development. This issue can be avoided by clicking Copy to create a new menu item which gives it a new order number, then do not edit anything else. Also naming a report with 'report' in the name or 'file maintenance' can cause problems.
