Contact Type field is missing drop down box on contact record after upgrading to Progress 11

When viewing contacts in FIMS, the contact type and/or staff fields allow for text entry but do not have the drop down box that should be there and was there before upgrading to Progress 11.

Answer:

1. Go to npo\found\ConfigFiles
2. Find the FIMS.ini and open with Notepad
3. Add the following line to the Startup section of the file:

FixChildFrameZorder=no

4. Click save

If you have this same issue occur when using FIMS on the server, then you will need to edit the FIMSNT.ini in the same manner because servers always use the FIMSNT.ini and workstations use the FIMS.ini.

Steps To Duplicate

  1. Launch FIMS
  2. Profile module
  3. Open a profile
  4. Click the contacts tab
  5. Select an existing contact and open or create a new one
  6. The contact record is missing the drop-down box for contact type and staff fields
