I'd like to create a new row format, but want to start with something that is similar, rather than creating it from scratch.
Answer:
To copy an existing row:
- In the General Ledger module, Click on the Design Statements super tab.
- Click on the Row Format tab and select the Row Format from the drop-down on the left.
- Optionally, click the binoculars button on the toolbar to see a complete list of Statements to find the Row Format you want to copy. Click on the Statement that has the Row Format you want to copy then click the Row Format tab.
- Confirm you are looking at the Row Format you want to copy, then click on the Create/Copy Format button.
- Enter a new name for the Row Format in the Enter New or Existing Format field. The limit is 12 characters.
- Select the Copy Row Format box. The row numbers are indicated by default.
- Click OK. You are now ready to work on your new Row Format.
- To copy only certain rows select which row numbers you want in the Copy From Row and Through Row fields.
- If your existing Row Format has Row numbers that are too close together to add Rows between other Rows, you can use the Renumber Rows option. You can also increment them by a number of your choice. For example, if you have Row numbers such as 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, you can select Renumber Rows starting at Row 1 and increment by 10. The new Row Format will have Row numbers 10, 20, 30, 40, 50.
