How do I install and use Chart It?

The files needed to install Chart It, the installation instructions, and the Chart It User Guide are in the zip file attached to this article.

Notes:

• You will need to install .Net 1.1 first to any computer upon which you would like to run Chart It. You can get the .Net installation from here:

This Setup requires the .Net Framework verson 1.1.4322 when Installing FIMS Chart It

Since .Net 1.1 is no longer supported by Microsoft, there may be some concern with installing .Net 1.1. If you choose to not install .Net 1.1 then at this time you will not be able to install Chart It.

The alternative would to be export data out of FIMS and then manually create graphics in Excel without using Chart It.

• FIMS Chart It must be installed on every FIMS workstation where it will be run

After installing .Net 1.1, install Chart It. See further details in the documentation that is in the zip file attached to this article:

1.  Download the zip the folder to your computer
2.  Right click on the file and select Extract All

3. You will see a window come up where you will choose where to extract the folder. This location is just an example:

4.  Open the unzipped folder and you will see a file called 'FimsPlusSetup.msi'. This is the installation file. Right click on the installation file and run as administrator. 

 

• The Chart it Installation.pdf is the file with the installation instructions. 
• The FIMSChartItGuide.pdf is a guide on using the feature.
