Article summary

I am trying to upload a fund statement zip file to DonorCentral and I am having issues, how can I check the zip file to see what issues there are with it?

Answer:

You can use the attached StatementZipValidator tool that will check the zip file for issues for example like the following among others:

1. Spaces in files instead of tabs
2. PDFs missing from the contents file
3. Extra PDFs in the zip file
4. Detects blank lines

Unzip the file and run the executable. You will need to specify the path to where the zip file is and then hit enter to run. You will see a series of lines appear for each PDF in the contents file. What this file does is identifies what issues there are with the fund statement zip file so that they can be addressed.

Note that you may need to right-click and run the executable as admin. When doing so, you may get a security prompt preventing running the file, if you select Run Anyway, you can bypass the warning.

The path and zip file name shown below are just examples, yours may be named differently.

Disregard the verbiage about DCv4.
