Setting Up New Fields with FieldMaker

NOTE: You can follow these instructions exactly in your Test and Learn database as a tutorial.

The following procedures take you through the process of creating a few additional fields for Donors. In this scenario, the organization makes grants in six major program areas, and you want to track the areas where donors have special interests. You have surveyed donors and asked for their primary, secondary, and tertiary interest areas, along with a comment to specifically describe their interests.

The major interest areas are Arts, Education, Environment, Health, Social Services, and Economic Development. To accommodate this categorization, plus the donor comment, you will add a FieldMaker page adjacent to the to the Donor tab.

In database terms, you will add a new table called fm_donor. Records in this new table will have a one-to-one relationship to the parent records in the Donor table (which themselves have a one-to-one relationship to the records in the Profile table). All three related records will be identified by the same IDCode.
